Negotiations
Our negotiation proposal with INAC is stalled because they will not deal with multiple groups who say that they represent the same group of people. While Chief Gil is still in continued phone contact with INAC.

​Chief and Council will produce a document which outlines the history of Michel's Chief and Council, and our activities as an Aboriginal Collective. This will be forwarded to INAC with a deadline for them to respond.

Membership
We need to firm up our membership lists with accurate information. Please send to [email protected]:

Upcoming changes to the Indian Act, such as Descheneaux, will affect our membership, as more of our descendants will be eligible for status or could have their status upgraded.

Council passed a motion to investigate grants or funding to help with membership and communication costs so we can stay better connected.

Genealogy
Proving lineage is important; so send family trees, your own family group (mom, dad, kids) and other genealogy to [email protected].

Upcoming meetings
We have had 11 meetings so far this year as Council, with one more planned in December.
